I am a biochemist from China who works as an IVF Coordinator. I did not have an extreme interest in reproductive science when I accepted the post; however, as my work progressed, I developed a passion for this field of work. I always wished to make a difference rather than make a living. This work has provided the opportunity to make that difference by assisting those seeking to fulfill the common human urge to have and cherish a child of their own, and it is enormously satisfying. As my interest has developed, I have taken every opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field and now wish to acquire the higher skills, knowledge, and research experience through the program that will enable me to increase my capacity to ‘make a difference in the lives of many.' I now hope to be selected to earn an MS Degree in Biochemistry at XXXX University.
My goal is to become the director of a reproductive health organization to provide world-class care and services that will set a standard in the field. To achieve this aim, I intend to successively study healthcare administration, business analytics, and psychology. I am excited by the advances in A.I. and its potential applications in this field of work. I also hope to assist in developing awareness of reproductive and sexual health among women in China to reduce STDs, infertility rates, and unsafe deliveries while promoting personal health and safe family expansion.
I have worked at the Reproductive Medical Center for about a year. I was delighted that my early progress resulted in my being given early independent responsibility for cases after my first month of work. My duties call for me to liaise with physicians and patients throughout the IVF cycle and report the results to patients, including the final PGS report. The work calls for exceptional sensitivity and empathy because of the enormous importance of the outcomes to the patients. I have been truly fortunate to work with some of the best physicians in the field, including Dr. Samuel XXXX. His technical expertise is complemented by enormous patience, kindness, and wisdom. He has taught me much in both these aspects of our work.
I am also aware of the general importance of cultural awareness and sensitivity in providing healthcare services. I am of Chinese ethnicity and understand the feelings of those who come from an outside culture. I have happily studied, worked, and socialized with people from various cultures and backgrounds. I enjoy learning about new cultures and sharing my rich heritage knowledge. My native language is Mandarin; I am fluent in English and have essential fluency in French.
I understand the fundamental significance of research in this field of work and am very keen to assist in research projects. I have the potential to become a good researcher. I have an ‘eye for detail,’ I am capable of original and creative thinking, analytical in my approach to problems, and determined but flexible in reaching my goals. I am happy to collaborate with others to achieve a common goal.
I have been involved in various volunteer activities, including working in a medical clinic in Peru, working with autistic young people in the U.S., and encouraging low-income high school students to apply for higher education. I intend to extend my experience of helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds throughout my academic and professional career. I have also sought to acquire leadership experience and skills to equip myself for the roles that I hope to fill in the future through involvement in several UW societies. I am also an experienced and confident public speaker.
I try to be a ‘well-rounded’ person and pursue several interests to this end. I am a prize-winning piano player and singer; I enjoy swimming, horse riding, tennis, and volleyball. I am also a yoga practitioner. I have carefully considered the avenues open to me now to acquire the skills and knowledge required to enable me to achieve my goals, and your program, with its comprehensive curriculum and its emphasis on the development of critical thinking skills and research, seems to me to be the ideal fit for my purposes. I hold a highly relevant bachelor's degree. However, my genuine passion for improving reproductive and women's health is my most important asset. I can assure the reader that I shall apply myself with exceptional diligence and enthusiasm to excel in the program and beyond.
Thank you for considering my application.
