I am a nurse from Brazil, and I am now twenty-nine; I live in Beachwood, Ohio. I finished my education in Brazil in June of 2006; in March of 2007, I began working as a Registered Nurse. In January of 2011, after finishing my Master of Science in Nursing (2 years) in Brazil, I began working as the US-equivalent of a nurse practitioner, in the operating room of the National Institute of Cardiology in Rio de Janeiro. I stayed there until July of 2011.
Since the beginning of last semester, I have been enrolled at XXU in the Intensive English as a Second Language – IESL (1 year) program, hoping to prepare myself for your graduate program. Over the course of the last five years, I have traveled around large parts of the world, mostly: France, Span, Italy, Portugal, USA, and many places in Brazil and the rest of South America. In addition to English, I am also fluent in Spanish.
I am confident that my unique background and experiences make me a valuable addition to your program's diverse community. Having spent considerable time in various parts of Latin America, I have gained a deep understanding of the region's culture, healthcare systems, and societal challenges. My hands-on involvement in an operating room in the Developing World has not only honed my medical skills but also exposed me to the critical healthcare disparities that exist globally. Furthermore, my aspirations to lead and improve public and private healthcare systems in Latin America align perfectly with the goals of your program.
